Better practice resource recovery centres

Better practice guidance is critical to the operation and management of resource recovery centres, to divert materials from landfill and ensure the safe management and handling of recovered materials and residual waste.

The term “Better Practice” is used in place of “Best Practice” because best practice implies that no further improvements or innovation are needed. Better Practice focuses on continually improving a facility as expectations, technology and standards change over time.

These guidance materials aim to promote and inform continuous improvement at resource recovery centres, as well as provide information about minimum standards.
