Boosting Business Productivity is a $3 million Victorian Government grants initiative comprised of three separate programs.
The initiative will equip 1000 SMEs with energy efficiency skills and connect them to expert advice to help them cut energy costs, reduce greenhouse emissions and unlock even more co-benefits.
Energy Assessment Grants
Small grants are available to help business with up to 200 full time employees, and spending over $20,000 a year on energy, to commission an energy assessment which will identify and implement energy improvements.
Funding is available to cover 50% of the cost of an energy assessment. The grants are offered at two funding levels: a basic energy assessment is up to $2,000 and a detailed energy assessment is up to $6,000, with access to a $3,000 assessment recommendation implementation bonus.
These grants are open now. Apply for an Energy Assessment Grant.
Materials Efficiency Grants
Funding is available to manufacturers looking to find solutions to their waste problems, which will result in more efficient use of materials and less waste sent to landfill.
Grants of up to $13,000 per business are available, comprised of $10,000, plus a $3,000 bonus. The $10,000 can be used for expert advice, using a consultant from a panel of service providers. The consultant will help the business to investigate the root cause of the waste problem, quantify the ‘true cost of waste’, explore materials efficiency opportunities, and develop a business case for investing in the best solution(s) to tackle the problem.
The $3,000 bonus is for implementing the solution(s) and can be used for equipment, infrastructure, or staff training. Businesses will need to match the grant dollar for dollar.
